1,299 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Thursday, 1,664 discharged & 20 deaths registered
There are 12,767 active Covid cases in Assam
July 29: On Thursday, out of 1,28,684 tests, 1,299 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,64,030. The positivity rate in the state is 1.01 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 184 positive cases during the day. Further, on Thursday, 20 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,221. The recovery rate is 96.57 percent.
It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 1,276 persons tested positive in Assam and 21 deaths were registered.
On Thursday, 1,664 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,44,695 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 96.57 percent. At present, there are 12,767 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 20 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 20 deceased, 04 are from Jorhat; 02 each from Barpeta, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong & Morigaon; 01 each from Chirang, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup Metro, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Nalbari & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,221.
