1,120 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Monday, 1,066 discharged & 17 deaths registered
There are 9,749 active Covid cases in Assam
Aug 9: On Monday, out of 1,40,454 tests, 1,120 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,75,220. The positivity rate in the state is 0.80 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 197 positive cases during the day. Further, on Monday, 17 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,404. The recovery rate is 97.13 percent.
It needs mention here that on Sunday, 568 persons tested positive in Assam and 15 deaths were registered.
On Monday, 1,066 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,58,720 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. At present, there are 9,749 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 17 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 17 deceased, 03 are from Golaghat; 02 each from Hojai, Kamrup Rural & Karimganj; 01 each from Cachar, Darrang, Dhubri Goalpara, Jorhat, Kamrup Metro, Nagaon & Sonitpur. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,404.
