11 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Thursday

Aug 19:  A total of 11 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Thursday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,672 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 10 persons were found positive, whereas only 01 person was detected as positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 24 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Wednesday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 18 August to 5 PM on 19 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 19 August, there were 29 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 12 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 17 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support and 18 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
