10 more Covid +ve patients die at Silchar Medical College in last 24 hours

95 patients in ICU, 31 in ventilator support & 165 put under oxygen at SMCH

May 26: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 10 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 10 deceased, 07 are from Cachar district, 01 from Karimganj & 02 from Hailakandi. The deceased were identified as:

  • Rekha Acharjee (66) from Ghungoor, Cachar was admitted at SMCH in 20 May. She died at 10.20 PM on 25 May.
  • Johura Begum Barbhuiyan (60) from Baskal in Dholai, Cachar took admission at SMCH on 24 May. She breathed her last at 10.30 PM on 25 May.
  • Prottush Nath (53) from Jaroiltola in Borkhala, Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 24 May. He passed away at 12.20 AM on 26 May.
  • Sandhya Rani Das (74) from Bazaricherra in Karimganj district got admitted at SMCH on 21 May. She died at 12.30 AM on 26 May.
  • Abdul Rouf Choudhury (67) from Algapur in Hailakandi took admission at SMCH on 25 May. He breathed his last at 1.10 AM on 26 May.
  • Rubi Barman from PHE Campus quarter at Silchar Medical was admitted on 23 May. She died at 3 AM on 26 May, 2021.
  • Ayesha Begum Laskar (60) from Dakhhin Mohanpur in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH on 25 May. She died at 3.15 AM on 26 May.
  • Nikunja Singha (58) from Dudhpur in Cachar got admitted at SMCH on 25 May. He passed away at 7.30 on 26 May.
  • Milon Rani Das (60) from Rajpur in Katigorah, Cachar took admission at SMCH on 26 May. She, however, expired the same day at 8.20 AM (26 May)
  • N. Bimal Singh (52) from Binnakandi (Kaptanpur) in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 26 May. He died at 10.40 AM on the same day (26 May).
