10 COVID-19 +ve pregnant women gives birth to 4 baby girls and 6 boys in Assam

July 18: At a time, when media is flooded with news of more and more people detected as COVID-19 positive, certain information gives opportunity to rejoice even in the midst of enveloping darkness. Such an incident reported from Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) gave opportunity to many to smile and rejoice keeping aside the tension mounted by the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic. Ten pregnant coronavirus positive women gave birth to 4 baby girls and 6 boys at GMCH. However, it was not known whether the new born babies were negative.

Sharing this information, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet wrote, “At times, we get opportunity to smile amid adversity too! We’ve such an occasion, second day in a row. Ten #COVID19+ braveheart mothers have given birth to 4 baby girls and 6 boys. Congratulations to the families. Kudos to O&G team of GMCH for performing cesarean sections.”
