1 in Cachar & 7 from Karimganj tests positive on Tuesday night
Active cases 115 in Assam
June 2: In a latest tweet Tuesday night, State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that 48 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Assam, out of which 8 are from Barak Valley. The state tally of COVID-19 patients went upto 1561, out of which, 1217 are active patients.
Out of the 48 new cases of COVID-19, one is from Cachar and 7 are from Karimganj district, whose swab samples were tested at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). In a social media post, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy informed that with this 8 new patients, the total number of coronavirus cases in Barak Valley has gone up to 179, out of which, 115 are active cases. 1 patient died in the Valley, whereas, 63 of them were discharged.
The 8 new patients detected from Barak Valley on Tuesday night are all with a travel history, stated Dr. Rajdeep Roy. All are aged between 19 to 30 years. The positive patient detected from Cachar is 26 years Abjol Hussain from Jiribam. Those 7 from Karimganj district are Mosrur Rahman (22) from Bagershangan, Lukman Uddin (27) from Lamajuar, Abul Hussain (30) from Bahubal, Miton Roy (27) from Suprakandi, Jubal Ahmed (21) from Fatepur, Khaled Md. Talukdar from Sadarashi and Tahir Ahmed (24) from Puran Chandpur.
