4 more deaths in last 24 hours in SMCH & Green Heals
August 30: The coronavirus pandemic has now led to a procession of death also in Barak Valley. Though in terms of percentage, this may be very nominal or may be just a number, but for the family members of the deceased, each death means everything for them. Since the last few days, the valley witnessed many deaths, although all of them were not certified as COVID-19 deaths. However, this also cannot be denied that all of them were infected with coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, the Valley witnessed 4 more deaths, out of which, 3 died in Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) and 1 at Green Heals Hospital. The 4 deceased were identified as:
- Lily Begum (62) from Meherpur, Silchar was admitted at SMCH at 9.55 PM on 24 August. She, however died at 6.28 PM on 29 August. Her death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Tusharkanti Choudhury (76) from Tarapur, Silchar was also infected with coronavirus and was admitted 4.55 PM 24 August. He breathed his last at 7.15 AM on 30 August. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Pushpa Rani Bardhan (85) from Karimganj was admitted at SMCH at 9.45 PM on 29 August. She died at 11 AM on 30 August. Her death was also certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Bhaskar Bijoy Gupta (50) from Premtola, Silchar tested positive and was admitted at Green Heals Hospital, Silchar on 26 August. He, however, succumbed to the virus infection at 3.35 AM on 30 August. Before death, he was also administered plasma. His death was certified as Covid-19 death by the State Death Audit Board.
