Ganga Prasad Prasin appointed new Vice Chancellor of Tripura University

August 16: Ganga Prasad Prasin replaced Professor Dharurkar as the new Vice Chancellor of Tripura Central University. Professor Dharurkar was the VC of Tripura University since 2018. However, in the face of mounting corruption charges, Professor Dharurkar resigned from the post last year. Since then, the post has been lying vacant and in-charge Vice Chancellor was managing the routine affairs of the varsity. Though the process of appointing a new VC started last year itself, but due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the process got delayed.

The new Vice Chancellor Ganga Prasad Prasin is currently working as the Dean in the Department of School of Social Sciences at Manipur Central University (Imphal). Prior to that, he worked as a professor in Benares Hindu University (BHU).
