TRS on current trends in theoretical & experimental physics will be held on 20-23 March in GC Colg

Way2barak, March 15 : The Department of Physics, Gurucharan College Silchar and S.N.Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences Kolkata are jointly organising a Topical Research School (TRS) on Current Trends in Theoretical and Experimental Physics from 20th to 23rd March, 2023 in the premises of Gurucharan College, Silchar. The main purpose of the proposed School is to spotlight the ongoing scenario of research in theoretical and experimental physics and provide a platform for interaction among undergraduate and postgraduate students, including researchers of the region.

Prof. Asoke Kumar Sen, Department of Physics, Assam University, Silchar and an
eminent astrophysicist will inaugurate the School at 10 AM on 20th March, in the Gurucharan College Auditorium. Prof. Asoke Kumar Sen, Prof. Atri Deshmukh, Prof. B.I.Sharma and Associate Professor Dr. Himadri Sekhar Das of Assam University, Silchar, Prof. Pralay Kumar Karmakar of Tezpur University, Dr. Ram Prasad Prajapati of JNU, New Delhi, Dr. Subhasis Panda, Dr Rupak Dutta and Dr. Saumya R. Mohapatra of NIT, Silchar, Dr. Avijit Chowdhury, Dr. Manoj Mandal and Dr. Tapas Baug of S.N.Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences Kolkata will act as Resource Persons in the School.

Students and research scholars from Assam University, NIT Silchar, Gurucharan College, Cachar College, Ramanuj Gupta Degree College, S S College Hailakandi and Karimganj College are expected to participate in the programme. Dr. Apratim Nag, Head, Department of Physics, Gurucharan College and Dr. Avijit Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Condensed Matter and Materials Physics, S.N Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, who are the Convenors of the School, have sought the cooperation of all concerned for the success of the programme.
