Congress leader & former Assam Minister Chandan Sarkar dies

November 19: Senior Congress leader and former minister of Assam Chandan Kumar Sarkar died on the early hours of Monday after suffering a massive heart attack last night. Sarkar (65) was admitted to a hospital at Bongaigaon after the cardiac arrest, where he breathed his last. He was the Irrigation Minister in the last Tarun Gogoi government.

Sarkar was the legislator of South Abhayapuri . Meanwhile, condolence messages from  many have started pouring in. Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Ripun Bora expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
