৬ অক্টোবরঃ শিলচরের আতালবস্তিতে নিজের ছেলের হাতে খুন হলেন গর্ভধারিনী মা। প্রতিবেশীরা ছেলে জাকির হোসেন লস্করকে ধরে পুলিশে দেন। মাকে মেডিক্যাল কলেজে নিয়ে গেলে কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। গণপ্রহারে জখম ছেলে জাকিরের চিকিতসা চলছে।

পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, ৬৫ বছর বয়সী জামিরুন্নেসা ছোট ছেলের সঙ্গে থাকেন। বড় ছেলে জাকিরের সঙ্গে নানা ব্যাপারে বিরোধ ছিল। শুক্রবার রাতে ছোট ছেলে বাড়ি ফেরেনি। ব্যবসার প্রয়োজনে থেকে গিয়েছিল হাইলাকান্দিতে। এরই সুযোগে লোহার রড নিয়ে মায়ের ওপর হামলা চালায় জাকির। তার বিরুদ্ধে মিজোরামের এক মহিলা খুনের মামলাও রয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে পুলিশ।

October 6: A son murdered his own mother at Atalbasti, Silchar. This incident infuriated the neighbours and they handed over the son Jakir Hussain Laskar to the police. Though the mother was rushed to Silchar Medical college and Hospital, but she breathed her last within few moments. The son Jakir was given enough thrashing by the mob that he had to be hospitalised.

Police has informed that the 65 year old Jamirunnesha used to live with her younger son. Her relation with her elder son Jakir was not cordial. On Friday night, her younger son did return back home. He had gone to Hailakandi for some business related works. Taking this opportunity, her elder son Jakir attacked her ruthlessly with an iron rod, which ultimateled led to her death. Police has informed that a case of murder of a woman at Mizoram is also pending upon Jakir.
