N. F. Railway undertakes initiatives for safety and comfort of passengers during the festive rush

way2barak, Oct 29: Northeast Frontier Railway has undertaken a series of initiatives this festive season to ensure safety &comfort for the travellers without compromising on quality-of-service delivery.Considering the passenger rush, a total of 44 pairs of special trains comprising more than 500 trips have been running to and from the jurisdiction of N. F. Railway. These special trains have been operating in addition to the scheduled passenger trainsconnecting major destinationstowards Eastern and Northern parts of the country like the states of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for Diwali and Chhath Puja.

NF. Railway has enhanced security measures in a planned manner at all the major stations and trains over its jurisdiction during the festive rush. Elaborate crowd control arrangements are made at all major and important railway stations, where huge crowds are predicted to reach for travelling to various destinations for celebrating festivals. Senior officials of Commercial Department are stationed at these stations to monitor all the activities to regulate the crowd in a systematic manner.Railway Protection Force &Government Railway Police are deployed at platforms, foot-over bridges and circulating areas to regulate the crowd smoothly in order to avoid stampede like situation during the heavy rush period.Additional, CCTV Control Roomshave been set up to keep a close watch on the crowded areas and render real time assistance to passengers.Queue systems for entering into general coaches are adopted at the originating stations. Proper announcement regarding trains/coaches is ensured well in time so that passengers are made aware of the location of platform from where the trains will depart.Arrangements are made to find ease in boarding and de-boarding of trains at originating and destination stations.

N. F. Railway has been launching special campaigns on regular basis during the festive season to sensitize passengers while travelling in trains. N. F. Railway is committed towards prioritizing a secure and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers during such rush season. Various awareness drives are being conducted through print, electronic & social media from time to time.
