Minister Pijush Hazarika feels unwell, taken for check up at a hospital in Silchar

Feb. 10: Minister for Water Resources; Parliamentary Affairs; Information,Public Relations; Printing & Stationery, Pijush Hazarika came on a 2-day tour of Barak Valley on Wednesday. From Silchar, he went to Karimganj to take part in a number of programmes in Karimganj district on Thursday. However, he was feeling unwell in the morning on Thursday and was also learnt to have vomited in the morning.

Later on, after returning from Karimganj, he was taken to Jeevan Jyoti Institute of Medical Sciences (JJIMS) at Meherpur, Silchar where he did Ultra Sound Sonography (USG) and some other tests. However, his condition was learnt to be stable. This was confirmed by Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty while speaking with way2barak. He further informed that Minister Hazarika would not be admitted at the hospital and will rather come back to Circuit House, where he will stay in the night. As per the schedule, Pijush Hazarika is supposed to leave for Guwahati on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, MLA Lakhipur Kaushik Rai while speaking with way2barak at 10.30 PM said, “While coming from Karimganj, Minister Hazarika went to JJIMS for a regular health check up. He was busy the whole day in Karimganj. There is nothing serious. After check up at JJIMS, we are now proceeding to Dholai to visit the house of the handyman of a truck who died in Mizoram. Minister Hazarika is perfectly well.”

As per sources in the JJIMS, it was learnt that Pijush Hazarika was accompanied by MLA Lakhipur to the hospital, where a number of doctors including Dr Amit Kalwar and Dr Bikash Sandilya examined him. Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), Dr Babul Bezbaruah also came to JJIMS and examined the minister, revealed the source. Nothing serious was detected and he will go back to the Circuit house on Thursday night after returning from Dholai.
