COVID-19: Wife dies on same bed in ICU just 4 days after her +ve husband’s death

August 1: In a tragic incident, a couple died due to COVID-19 within a span of four days. As per reports, an octogenarian, Dr. SAW Hussain (85) of Raja Maidam locality of Jorhat was detected COVID-19 positive and was admitted at Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH) on 28 July. He was shifted to ICU. However, he died around 9 PM the same night.

Just after the death of Dr. Hussain, his wife Aram Begum (73) was also detected coronavirus positive and was coincidentally admitted to the same bed in the ICU of JMCH where her husband had lost his life due to COVID-19. Aram Begum too died due to coronavirus infection on 1 August, just 4 days after passing away of her husband.

Meanwhile, more misfortune awaited the family as the son of the deceased couple, who is a prominent businessman and their daughter-in-law, a college teacher in Jorhat were detected COVID-19 positive. These two were also admitted at the same hospital (JMCH) and are now undergoing treatment.
