30 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Monday, 1 death at SMCH

July 26:  A total of 30 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Monday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 7,897 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 29 were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 25 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Sunday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 25 July to 5 PM on 26 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening. The deceased was identified as:

  • Gopi Chand Singha (65) from Sonai in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 22 July. The patient, however, passed away at 10 PM on 25 July.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 26 July, there were 64 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 40 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 24 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 07 patients were put under ventilator support and 48 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 12 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 14 of them were discharged.
