All-ladies group, ‘Adwitiya’ distribute new saree among 100 women

way2barak, Oct.1: On the eve of Durga Puja, the all-ladies group, ‘Adwitiya’ distributed new saree among 100 poor and needy women of the society at two different places on two days. The sarees were distributed at Banglaghat- Suryanagar and Chiripool, Madhyagram (Ward No.8).

Expressing her views, Sharmistha Bhattacharjee of ‘Adwitiya’ said, “We are an all-ladies Facebook group based in Silchar. On the eve of Durga Puja, we decided to come out of the virtual world and stand besides the disadvantaged populace staying in the vicinity of Silchar in our own little way. We do hope to try and extend help to those in need in the near future also.”

She further said, “When we all wear new clothes on Durga Puja, ‘Adwitiya’ felt that we too can bring smile on the face of the disadvantaged section of the society by donating new clothes. As such, we distributed new sarees among 100 such women.

Apart from Sharmistha Bhattacharjee, present on behalf of Adwitiya were Moumita Gupta, Alpana Deb and Sampa Banik, Chumki Roy, Dr. Debipreeta Dutta Gupta among others. They were also accompanied by Gunakar Das, Supradip Dutta Roy.
