Silchar Police recovers huge amount of contraband medicines from 3 locations

way2barak, Oct.12: Based on a credible input regarding illegally storage of contrabands in a house at Larsing para, Sub Inspector Probeen Bey and Proby Biraj Neog along with staff led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) HQ on Wednesday launched an operation in that area. Accordingly, the police team arrived at his house and a search operation was conducted.

During search of the house of one Niliendu Malakar, contraband items- Cofren CD cough syrup (1700 numbers), Codico M syrup (360 numbers), Isorex. Syrup (50 numbers), Generax Syrup (100 numbers), Cofmaster Syrup (25 numbers), (Each Bottle contain 100ML), 40 boxes of Traken Sposmo Plus capsule, each containing 20 Strip, (Each strip Comprising 10 capsules), (Total 8000 Nos. capsule) were recovered and seized.

Niliendu Malakar is the S/O Late Gajenra Malakar of Village – Dudhpatil Part VII, PS – Silchar, Dist – Cachar, Assam. Further, on being led by him, another 1150 number of Omavdex CP syrup and 200 nos of Bpen Cough Syrup were recovered, which were kept concealed at another location from the possession of Meghraj Malakar, S/o Manik Malakar of Bihara, P.S. Kalain, Dist – Cachar, Assam, and Nilo Tripura, S/O Sena Tripura of Nunai FB, P.S. Lala, Dist. Hailakandi, Assam.
