Cherry Blossom Festival called off in Shillong; Ban on internet services extended till 26 Nov

way2barak, Nov.24: Following the death of 6 persons at the Assam- Meghalaya border, situation has been reported to be tensed till now. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma cancelled various festivals including the much famous Cherry Blossom Festival.

Further, the ban on internet services imposed in 7 districts of Meghalaya on 22 November for 48 hours has now been extended till 26 November. The 7 districts are: West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri – Bhoi, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, and South West Khasi Hills Districts.
