Brown Sugar worth Rs.12 lakh seized at Guwahati, 1 arrested

November 18: A team of Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 10 packets of Brown Sugar worth Rs. 12 lakh. 50 thousand on Sunday morning. On the basis of suspicion, GRP apprehended a man at Guwahati Railway Station who was moving around at Platform No. 1. On searching his bag, 10 packets of Brown Sugar was recovered. The man carrying the 10 packets of brown sugar weighing 125 grams has also been arrested.

The accused has been identified by GRP as Anuwar. He is a resident of Changamdabi under Yaikipok Police Station in Imphal East District of Manipur. He was just about to board the Down Kamrup Express train when GRP nabbed him. Police are interrogating him to find out further details.
