Big spike! 97 detected positive in Cachar on Sunday

Active cases 280 in Cachar

Jan. 9: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually increasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 5.10 PM. As per the latest data, 97 persons were found positive in the district on 9 January. Also, 09 patients were discharged (01 hospital & 08 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 280, out of which, 207 are in home isolation whereas 73 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Friday, 75 persons were found positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,245 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 40 persons were found positive, whereas 57 were detected positive out of 432 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,893 whereas during this phase, 20,392 patients were discharged.

There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 8 January to 5 PM on 9 January) did not witness the death of any positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 09 January, there were 31 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patients were put under ventilator support, but 05 were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 03 were discharged. Further, 01 patient was shifted to Covid Care Centre.
