3,980 teachers’ posts provincialised in 382 educational institutes of Assam

355 schools and 27 colleges in Assam provincialised

August 18: Government of Assam has sanctioned 213 post of teachers and 2599 post of tutors for procincialisation in 355 nos. of High/ Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary Schools. The state government provincialised 3,049 posts under the directorate of secondary education and 931 posts under the directorate of higher education.

In addition to these, additional post of 199 teachers/ tutors of provincialised High/ Higher Secondary/ Senior  Secondary Schools and 38 teachers/ tutors of provincialised Senior Secondary Schools (erstwhile Junior colleges) have also been sanctioned. The provincialised educational institutes include 197 high schools, 9 higher secondary schools and 149 senior secondary schools or junior colleges across Assam.

Assam government has announced provincialisation of 27 colleges across the state. A total of 3049 teachers under secondary education and 931 teachers under higher education have also been provincialised.

The provincialisation process for 104 number of Higher Secondary Schools and 67 High Schools and for some additional posts is also under scrutiny. The final report on the above shall be published at the earliest. Any complaint against the 355 newly provincialised schools and its incumbents and also in respect of 237 additional post can be submitted to Director of Secondary Education, Assam within 30 days for further scrutiny.

The degree colleges/ posts in such colleges which were provincialised in Cachar district are: Mahendra Kumar Dey College, Amraghat; S.M. Dev College, Lakhipur, West Silchar College, Satya Ranjan College, Silchar College, Jagannath Singh College. The degree colleges/ posts in such colleges which were provincialised in Hailakandi district are: AL Choudhury College, Lala Rural College, Moinul Haque Choudhury College and S.C.Dey College. In Karimganj district, the following degree colleges/ posts in such colleges were provincialised: N.C. College, Nilambazar College,Patharkandi College, R.K.Nagar CollegeSwami Vivekananda College.

The schools which were provincialised in Cachar are Aswini Kumar High School, Dinesh Deb Public High School, Haji Nur Uddin Choudhury Public School, Irongmara High School, Kalain High Madrasa and Kalika Prashad Roy High School. Apart from these, the following Senior Secondary Schools in Cachar were also provincialised: Katigorah Senior Secondary School, Bantarapur Senior Secondary School and MA Laskar Senior Secondary School.
