Doctors in Assam now to be quarantined for 7 days instead of 14 days

May 21: Earlier, doctors in Assam who are on duty in COVID-19 ward were sent for compulsory institutional quarantine of 14 days. They were put under quarantine after doing duty in the covid ward for 7 consecutive days. However, from now onwards, Assam government has brought in a change in quarantine policy regarding on duty doctors in COVID-19 ward.

Now, after doing duty in COVID-19 ward for 7 days, doctors will be put under institutional quarantine for only 07 days. This decision will come into immediate effect in the state of Assam. This was informed by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing at NHM office in Guwahati on Thursday.
