Sitar artist Allah Rakha Khan to feature live at Vengo Land on 5 September

September 4: The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic followed by nationwide lockdown had captivated people inside their house. It was at that juncture that a musical group Vengo Land was formed by eminent singer Venu Gopal. This is a virtual group in Facebook and its members are ever increasing. Every weekend, one can see musical performances by both amateur artists and those well established in the industry.

Informing about this, admin Venugopal and Paramita Paul of Vengo Land Facebook Page said, “This weekend stay tuned to Vengo Land to watch Sitarist Mr. Allah Rakha Khan (AR Raheem) at 7 PM.”

Allah Rakha Khan got gold medal for sitar in his young age and then he got B high grade from All India Radio. He is an approved artist from Doordarshan and All India Radio. He worked for music channels like Ghazal Sara, Etv urdu and he accompanied Reshma ji (singer from Pakistan) in a programme in Jaipur organized by B4u. He has also worked with many artists like music director Khayyam Sahab, Bhupender Mitali, Anup Jalota, Pinaz Masani, Dilraj Kaur and Chandan Das. He has also worked with Jagjeet Singh.

Allah Rakha Khan was born in a music oriented family of Jaipur. His grandfather Ustad Kale Khan, and his father Ustad Nisar Hussain were eminent Tabla players of India. He started learning sitar from Pt. Shri Ram Umdekar of Gwalior and took vocal training from Ustad Shahid Parvez Saheb.
