With 28 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 69 on 7 July, 1 death at SMCH

Active cases 413 in Cachar; 63 discharged on Wednesday

July 7: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Wednesday at 11.20 PM. As per the latest data, 28 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 69 persons were found positive in the district on 7 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 41 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 413. This was informed by District Media Expert on Wednesday night. Also, 63 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 62 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,227 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 40 persons were found positive, whereas 29 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 17,999, whereas during this phase, 17,414 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 413 active patients:

13 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
12 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
07 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
05 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
04 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
25 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
08 Palonghat Model Hospital
182 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 6 July to 5 PM on 7 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). His detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board.This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased from cachar district was identified as:

  • Sunahar Ali (65) from Paikhan, Katigorah in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 1 July. The patient, however, passed away at 7.15 PM on 6 July.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 7 July, there were 102 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 48 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 54 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 10 patients were put under ventilator support and 70 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 15 of them were discharged.
