স্বচ্ছতার বার্তা নিয়ে সাইকেলে এনআইটির ছাত্র-শিক্ষকরা
NIT Silchar takes out cycle rally to spread the message of ‘Swachhata’

স্বচ্ছতাই সেবা। প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির এই স্লোগান নিয়ে রবিবার সকালে সাইকেলে সচেতনতার বার্তা ছড়ালেন শিলচর এনআইটি-র ছাত্র-শিক্ষকরা। এনআইটি থেকে সাইকেল যাত্রার সূচনা করান ডিরেক্টর শিবাজি বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। ছেলেদের সঙ্গে সাইকেল নিয়ে সমান তালে এগোয় মেয়েরাও। শিক্ষকদর মধ্যে ছিলেন আরডি মিশ্র, নলিনবিহারী দেবচৌধুরী, দুলাল দাস, বিনয় রায় প্রমুখ। শিক্ষক পরিবারের কিছু শিশুও  যোগ দেয় মিছিলে। শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালের সামনে থেকে ফিরে যায় সবাই।

এর আগে গাড়ি চেপে ডিরেক্টর সেখানে পৌঁছে মিছিলে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের উদ্দেশে সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তৃতা করেন। তিনি প্রত্যেককে নিজেদের কাজকর্মের সময়ে স্বচ্ছতা-সচেতন থাকতে পরামর্শ দেন।

ডিরেক্টর বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, এনআইটি-তে যেহেতু প্রযুক্তিগত কাজকর্ম বেশি, তাই পরিবেশ স্বচ্ছ-সুন্দর রাখার দায়ও তাদেরই বেশি। এই বোধ থেকেই এনআইটি ইকো ক্লাবের সাইকেল মিছিলের উদ্যোগ। আগামী ২ অক্টোবর স্বচ্ছতার উপর এনআইটি-তে সারা দিনের কর্মসূচি রয়েছে বলেও ডিরেক্টর জানান।

September 30: “Swachhata Hi Seva.’ Keeping in tune with this clarion call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the students and teachers of NIT Silchar took out a cycle rally to spread awareness among the people. The cycle rally was flagged off from NIT by its Director, Shivaji Banerjee. Along with the students, some teachers also participated in this rally. They are R.D. Mishra, Nalin Behari Deb Choudhury, Dulal Das, Binoy Roy and others. A few children of the teachers also took part in the rally. Riding on the bicycle, the students reached the point of Silchar Medical College, from where they again returned back to their campus.

Meanwhile, the Director of NIT came back on his car and addressed the students. He advised the students to be aware to keep one’s surrounding clean while doing any work.

Director Shivaji Banerjee further said that as NIT is a place where the practical or applied takes are performed in a mass scale, so it is the duty of NIT to keep the campus clean and beautiful. Infact, the cycle rally was organized by the Eco Club keeping this concept in mind. The Director also informed that on 2 October, there will be a day long programme on ‘Swachhata.’
