Govt notifies not to allow admission in Class XI till HSLC exams held & results declared

May 30: Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all educational institutions have been closed in Assam till 5 June, 2021. Even the HSLC and HS examinations were postponed. However, some private educational institutions in the state were involved in admitting students in HS 1st year (Class XI). Even parents and guardians are seen to express willingness to admit their wards in Class XI as they are tensed that later on seats in prestigious private institutions may not be available later on.

The Assam government has taken a strong stand against such illegal procedure of admitting the students in HS First Year by such private institutions. In a notification issued by the Secondary Education Department on 28 May, it was stated that “No Colleges/ Higher Secondary Schools/ Senior Secondary Schools should admit students in Class XI in the current academic session till the conduct of HSLC/AHM Board examination by SEBA and subsequent declaration of result by the Board.”
