Barak Valley Welfare Development Society gives relief on ‘Akshay Tritiya’

Rising Youth Society helped BVWDS in its mission

April 26: Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (BVWDS) stood besides around 220 needy families on the occasion of ‘Akshay Tritiya’. On Sunday, the members of the Society, distributed food materials among daily wage workers and some nomads who settled near NIT, Silchar. In this noble endeavour, Barak Valley Welfare Development Society was lend a helping hand by Rising Youth Society. They distributed the relief obeying the norms of social distancing.

Both the organisations distributed grocery items which comprised of rice, dal, soyabean, mustard oil and soap. They also gave a soap to each one of them and explained them the importance of washing hands regularly and following the rules of hygiene. Expressing their view, Gaurav Chanda, Executive Director of BVWDS said, “The members of our society are always on the look out for people who are finding hard to make both their ends meet. The ongoing lockdown has rendered people with much difficulties. We also leave no stones unturned to spread awareness on COVID-19. I also thank all the well wishers, donors, members, & media partners for there support.”

Gaurav Chanda, Executive Director BVWDS,  Puja Das, Project Director, Ujjawala, Anjana Dev, Ronnie Dev, Sampa Dhar, Dona Das Gupta, Pinak Roy, Biswajit Roy, Rahul Roy, Rohan Roy, Sandeep Roy along with others were present during the relief distribution.
