Ambikapur Purbapara bags best Puja award from Barak Art and Craft Society

October 17: Durga Utsab 2019 ended on a peaceful note in all the three districts of Barak Valley. The enthusiasm of the Puja organising committees and the people at large was on a high pitch. To inspire the Puja Committees, Barak Art and Craft Society gives away awards in various categories. This year too, the awards ceremony was organised on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan, Silchar.

Ambikapur Purbapara & Hospiptal Road Durga Puja Committee, was adjudged as the “Best Puja” of Silchar. It needs mention here that this particular Puja Committee celebrated the completion of their 100 years and so naturally, the pandal, the idol and all other activities associated with their Durga Puja was indeed a grand affair.

Expressing his reaction, Tamal Kanti Banik Secretary of the Puja Committee said, “We are indeed honoured and elated to receive this prestigious award. This year was a special one for our puja committee. I would take the privilege of dedicating this award to all those persons dead and alive who have been associated with this puja committee directly or indirectly since its very inception in the year 1919.”

The award ceremony was graced by Angshuman Roy, Shyamal Saha, Swapan Kumar Singha, Pradip Acharjee,  Tarun Kumar Paul, Swarnali Chowdhury and Vivek Poddar among others.
