Zubeen Garg attacked, FIR lodged, Himanta condemns the incident
August 13: Eminent singer from Assam Zubeen Garg was attacked by unidentified miscreants on Wednesday night. The singer reportedly was on his way back to his home from a studio in Zoo Road Tinali. In this connection, Zubeen Garg lodged an FIR with the Dispur police. As per the FIR, a vehicle bearing registration number AS01 BY 0675 (Maurti CIAZ) had overtaken Zubeen’s vehicle at Ganesh Mandir near Ganeshguri at around 12.30 AM from where six people were there. he further alleged that youths came out from the car with beer bottles in their hands. They hurled abuses as well as attempted attack on him.

Assam Health, Education & Finance Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma severely criticised the incident and assured that the culprits would be nabbed very soon. He said that necessary directions were given to the Police Commissioner to find out those involved in this criminal act. He further requested the people of Assam not to drag Zubeen Garg to any sort of political or other controversies.
Meanwhile, Assam Police set into action and raided the residence of Hirak Rajbangshi, inwhose name the car in which the youths misbehaved was registered.Currently Hirak is on run and the police are continuing their search for the accused. The police, however, detained his brother for questioning.
