ত্রাণ বিতরণে ধাগা-র তরুণরা
Youths of ‘Dhaga’ distributes relief among the poor

15 এপ্রিলঃ লকডাউনের মেয়াদ আরও 19দিন বৃদ্ধিতে সমাজের বৃহত অংশের মানুষ দুবেলা দুমুঠো খাওয়া নিয়ে দুশ্চিন্তায়। তাঁদের একাংশকেও যদি সামান্য চিন্তামুক্ত করা যায়, ওই ভাবনায় চাল, ডাল, আলু, লবণ ও সয়াবিন নিয়ে বেরিয়ে পড়লেন সামাজিক-সাংস্কৃতিক সংস্থা ‘ধাগা’-র সদস্যরা।

রোনক দাম, সৌম্যজিত দত্ত, তাপসী দে, অনুপ্রিয়া চক্রবর্তী, অতুলকুমার  সিং, অভিষেক চক্রবর্তী ও প্রীতম রায়। সকলের বয়স 17 থেকে 25 বছর। তারা আশ্রম রোড, মালিনী বিলে গিয়ে দুস্থদের মধ্যে ওই ত্রাণ সামগ্রী বিতরণ করেন। তাঁরা যান উজ্জ্বলা-তেও। মোট দুই শতাধিক মানুষের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হয় ধাগা-র সংগৃহীত জিনিসপত্র।

ওই সব সামগ্রী সংগ্রহে সাহায্যের হাত বাড়িয়ে দেন লায়ন্স ক্লাবের জোন চেয়ারম্যান শঙ্করপ্রসাদ চক্রবর্তী, দেবরাজ চক্রবর্তী, ইন্দ্রাণী ভট্টাচার্য, তানিয়া ভৌমিক ও শুভরঞ্জন দাস, জানান ধাগা-র সভাপতি প্রীতম রায় ও প্রজেক্ট কো-অর্ডিনেটর সোহম চৌধুরী। তাঁরা বলেন, এই ত্রাণ কর্মসূচি তাঁরা অব্যাহত রাখবেন।

April 15: The outbreak of coronavirus and the increasing number of positive cases led the government to extend the lockdown by another 19 days. Amidst this, many poor people who are basically daily wage earners are finding it great difficult to earn their livelihood. Keeping in view the miserable plight of these people, social organisation, ‘Dhaga’ took initiative to stand besides the poor people of Silchar.

Around 200 people of areas like Ashram Road, Malini Beel, Ujawala Centre were provided essential commodities, like rice, dal, oil, salt, potatoes, soybean and soap. Present during the distribution of the aid were Ronak Dam, Soumyajit Dutta, Tapashi Dey, Anupriya Chakraborty, Atul Kumar Singh, Abhishek Chakraborty and Pritam Roy.

Soham Chowdhury, Project Coordinator of ‘Dhaga’ expressed thanks to Shankar Prasad Chakraborty, Zone chairman District 32G, Debraj Chakraborty, Lion Indrani Bhattacharjee,Tania Bhowmik, Shubho Ranjan Das for their support. Pritam Roy, President of Dhaga thanked the members of his organisation and expressed the view that they will continue to help people during this lockdown in other parts of the town.
