Youth arrested at Udharbond with .2 MM pistol & 24 bullets

September 22: In a sensational incident, a 34 year old youth was apprehended by Assam Rifles along with a .2 MM pistol and 24 live bullets. As per reports, on the basis of secret information, Assam Rifles laid a trap near DHNS School, Udharbond. At that moment a Magic vehicle bearing No. AS11E 0557 came from towards Silchar which was stopped by Assam Rifles. On search, a pistol and bullets were recovered from inside the vehicle.

Immediately the driver Ajir Uddin Barbhuiya was nabbed by the Assam Rifles and handed over to Udharbond police. Ajir Uddin (34) is the son of Motahir Ali Barbhuiyan and is a resident of Durganagar Part IV in Udharbond. At present, he is in the custody of the police.

Meanwhile arrested Ajir Uddin Barbhuiya informed that like all other days, he went out from his home in the morning to take school students in his Magic vehicle. On reaching DNHS School, the Assam Rifles Jawans stopped his vehicle and started to search in it. He, however, pleaded innocence and said that he does not know from where the pistol and bullets came in his vehicle.
