YASE to organise Candle March on 3 November to protest the death of Sonali-Pompa
November 2: Youth Against Social Evils (YASE) has given call for a silent Candle March on 3 November, 2019 (Sunday) at 4.30 PM to mourn the death of Sonali Das and Pompy Dey in a tragic road mishap. The silent protest march will start from near the statue of Khudiram at Club Road Silchar and go through the main points of the town. The rally will then then come back near the statue of Khudiram.
In a press release issued by YASE, its President Sanjeev Roy and General Secretary Abdul Mukhit Laskar wrote, “Though it will be a silent march but silence is sometimes more eloquent than speech. This candle rally will be a silent protest against the system which is responsible for the loss of lives of Pampa Dey and Sonali Das, and many others seriously injured in the recent truck mishap at Silchar. We request the benign presence of all individuals and organisations to join the ‘Protest March’ with their banner. Please be a part of the Movement which is the ‘need of the hour.’
