World Sight Day observed by Lions and Leos of Silchar Greater

Oct. 10: World Sight Day is observed on 8 October. To mark the occasion, Leo Club of Silchar Greater accompanied its parent’s club Lions Club of Silchar Greater organised an awareness program where leaflets containing eye related information were distributed among the people in the comparatively backward areas of Karati Gram, Rongpur, Moduraghat in Cachar.

The Lions and Leo members interacted with the people, answered their queries and an assurance regarding the treatment of any kind of vision problems in future was given to them. Members present from Lions Club were Lion Sabyasachee Rudra Gupta, Anoop Dutta, Debraj Dhar, Bubu Choudhury, Shibam Das and from Leos, Leo Neha Chakraborty, Subhajit Das, Parnasree Das and Soumyajyoti Bhattacharjee.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Leo Club of Silchar Greater as part of another project, distributed lunch packets to the destitute at National Highway Point and Bhasha Shahid Station, Silchar. Leo Greater President Leo Debosmita Biswas said that maximum of their member are students, but they love to serve the needy by saving from their pocket money. In future, they assured to continue with such projects. Leo Shatarupa Choudhury, Neha Chakraborty, Rishab Purkayastha, Subhajit Das, Swarupjyoti Paul, Parnasree Das, Sweta Roy, Soumyajyoti Bhattacharjee conducted the project successfully.
