With 9 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 22 on 16 August

Aug 16: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 11.15 PM. As per the latest data, 09 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 22 persons were found positive in the district on 16 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 13 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 157. This was informed by District Media Expert on Monday night. Also, 25 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Sunday, 12 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

Further, during the day, 21,468 persons were administered Covid vaccine in Cachar. With this, a total of 6,19,172 persons in the district were vaccinated as of now.

As per the updated data, a total of 3,450 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 11 persons were found positive, whereas 11 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,477 whereas during this phase, 19,128 patients were discharged.

02 at Cachar Cancer Hospital

02 Palonghat Model Hospital
32 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 15 August to 5 PM on 16 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 15 August, there were 32 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 18 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 14 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 01 patients were put under ventilator support and 22 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 04 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 12 of them were discharged.
