With 3 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 4 on 7 October, 1 death at SMCH

Oct. 7: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 10.30 PM. As per the latest data, 03 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 04 persons were found positive in the district on 7 October. Earlier, at 5 PM, it was informed that 01 person was found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 45. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 07 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 05 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,369 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 01 person was found positive, whereas 03 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 2,0,113 whereas during this phase, 19,855 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 45 active patients:

13 of them are admitted at SMCH
06 at MH
00 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
00 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
26 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 6 October to 5 PM on 7 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening. The deceased was identified as:

• Mina Rani Nath Choudhury (55) from Meherpur in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 4 October. The patient, however, breathed her last at 5.30 AM on 7 October.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 7 October, there were 07 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 03 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and 06 of them was discharged.
