With 19 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 57 on 9 July, 1 death registered

Active cases 359 in Cachar; 73 discharged on Friday

July 9: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 10.30 PM. As per the latest data, 19 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 57 persons were found positive in the district on 9 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 38 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 359. This was informed by District Media Expert on Friday night. Also, 73 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Thursday, 73 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,282 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 38 persons were found positive, whereas 19 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,107, whereas during this phase, 17,576 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 359 active patients:

105 of them are admitted at SMCH
10 at MH
38 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
13 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
12 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
07 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
07 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
02 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
17 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
18 Palonghat Model Hospital
137 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 8 July to 5 PM on 9 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Her detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening. The deceased from Cachar district was identified as:

  • Champa Koiri (60) from Dholai in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 30 June. The patient, however, passed away at 5.30 PM on 8 July.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 9 July, there were 108 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 51 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 57 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 13 patients were put under ventilator support and 71 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 12 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
