With 18 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 54 on 16 July, 3 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 343 in Cachar; 68 discharged on Friday

July 16: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 11.00 PM. As per the latest data, 18 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 54 persons were found positive in the district on 16 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 36 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 343. This was informed by District Media Expert on Friday night. Also, 68 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Thursday, 54 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar. Further, on Friday, 250 persons were vaccinated in Cachar district.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,971 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 34 persons were found positive, whereas 20 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,470 whereas during this phase, 17,951 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 343 active patients:

32 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
09 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
06 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
02 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
08 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
05 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
20 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
27 Palonghat Model Hospital
135 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 15 July to 5 PM on 16 July) witnessed the death of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening. Out of the three deceased, one is from Cachar, 01 from Karimganj and the other from Hailakandi .

The deceased were identified as Prabin Dey (63) from Dormikhal at Dholai in Cachar district, Poritosh Paul (45) from Hailakandi district and Gopal Sena Singha (78) from Dullabhcherra in Karimganj district.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 16 July, there were 76 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 52 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 24 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 11 patients were put under ventilator support and 68 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 11 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 11 of them were discharged.
