With 1 more Covid +ve case, day’s total in Cachar rises to 5 on 18 October

Active cases 33 in Cachar, 7 discharged on Monday

Oct. 18: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 10.35 PM. As per the latest data, 01 more person was detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 05 persons were found positive in the district on 18 October. Earlier, at 5 PM, it was informed that 04 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 33. This was informed by District Media Expert on Monday night. Also, 07 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 12 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,010 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 04 persons were found positive, whereas 01more was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,169 whereas during this phase, 19,916 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 33 active patients:

08 of them are admitted at SMCH
03 at MH
00 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
00 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
23 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 17 October to 5 PM on 18 October) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 18 October, there were 07 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 05 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 02 of them were discharged.
