We need to preserve & take forward our Sanatan Dharma to its peak, says CM Assam at Rishikesh

Dec. 30: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday visited the temple city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand along with his wife. There on the banks of the Holy Ganges, the Chief Minister along with his wife was seen to perform Ganga Aarti. CM Assam was also accompanied by his cabinet colleague Pijush Hazarika. Taking to his twitter handle, Dr Sarma wrote, “Honoured to be a part of the divine Ma Ganga Arti at ⁦Parmarth Niketan,⁩ Rishikesh. Also feeling privileged to have the blessings of ⁦Pujya Swamiji, His Holiness Chidanand Saraswatiji.”

There in his brief speech, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma paid rich tributes to the holy river Ganges. He said, “Sanatan dharma teaches us to do good in every step of our life. It is our duty to abide by the principles of Sanatan Dharma and take it to the pinnacle of glory and fame.” The Chief Minister also invited the people of Rishikesh to come to Assam and pay a visit to the holy sites of Kamakhya and Parshuram Kunda.

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also met Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand at his residence in Dehradun. CM Uttarakhand felicitated his counterpart of Assam. Dr Sarma wished him good luck for the forthcoming Assembly polls of Uttarakhand.
