Vehicles plying on wrong side of Mahasadak; Traffic violators fined by Cachar Police
way2barak, Jan.4: Cachar Police has been active in regulating traffic at Mahasadak. On Wednesday, Numal Mahatta, Superintendent of Police along with the District Transport Officer (DTO), NHAI and other police officials conducted surprise visit at the Mahasadak. Many vehicles were found to ply on the wrong side of the Mahasadak. The police team fined the traffic violators.
SP Cachar and the DTO issued strict warning of more serious consequences, if the vehicles were found to ply on the wrong side of the road. Later on speaking with the media, SP Numal Mahatta said, “In order to curb the menace of traffic violations on the Mahasadak often leading to fatalities, we have started a raid today. We have found that many vehicles were plying on the wrong side of the road. This is one prime reason of accidents on the Mahasadak. We are here to stop such violations and make people aware of the traffic rules and regulations.”
“Cachar police has now decided to go tough over traffic violators. We have spotted several such violations both by two-wheelers and 4-wheeler vehicles, who have been fined as per rules. Our main aim is to save the precious lives of the commuters. We want to ensure the safety of not only those who flout rules but also of other commuters who may become the victims of such negligence driving. Our message is loud and clear. We will be tough on those who would violate the rules of the road, added the Police Super.
