Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to grace a National Workshop on NEP 2020 at Silchar Rajiv Bhavan on 2 Sept

way2barak, Sept1: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS) under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India is going to organise a National Workshop on “Implementation Strategies of the Vision of NEP 2020: Challenges and Opportunities for Higher Education Institutions” on 2 September, 2022 at Rajiv Bhavan, Silchar. The National Workshop will be graced by Arjun Ram Meghalwal, Minister of State for Culture, Govt of India.

The Inaugural Session and Technical Session I will begin with a Saraswati Vandana, which will be followed by an introductory lecture by Prof. Sujit Kr Ghosh, Chairman of MAKAIAS. The resource persons of this session will be Prof. Niranjan Roy, Director, CSHD, Assam University; Prof. G.Ram, Former Director, CSHD, Assam University; Prof. Ajoy K. Singh, Dept of Education, Assam University and Prof. NB Dey, Former Emeritus Professor, Assam University. This session will be chaired by Dr Swarup Prasad Ghosh, Director MAKAIAS.

After the lunch break, the Technical Session II will begin. This session will be chaired by Prof. Joyoti Bhattacharjee, Deptt of Political Science, Assam University. The resource persons of this session are Prof. Anup Kr Dey, Head, Deptt of English, Assam university, Diphu campus; Dr Debotosh Chakraborty, Dept of Political Science, Assam University; Dr Farheena Rahman, MAKAIAS Fellow, L.Dipika Singha, MAKAIAS Fellow; Amit Barman, MAKAIAS Fellow and Sushanta Banerjee, Academic Coordinator, MAKAIAS.

After a tea break, book release and valedictory session will begin. The Chief Guest Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghawal will release books on rare manuscript studies containing 141 Manuscripts (276 pages) connected with the Early History of Barak- Kushiyara- Surma Valleys explored by the MAKAIAS. The Guests of Honour of the book release programme will be Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, Vice Chancellor of Assam University and Eminent Archivist Dr Amalendu Bhattacharjee. The valedictory address will be delivered by Prof. Sujit K Ghosh, Chairman, MAKAIAS.
