Unidentified dead body recognised, kudos to the efforts of Santanu Das

November 11: Silchar Traffic Police in-charge Santanu Das left an important message in his Facebook Page on Sunday night. Along with the photograph of a deceased, Mr. Das wrote, “The following unknown person met with an accident at Rangirkhari near Taraknath Mondir on 06.11.2019 @12 midnight and became unconscious. He expired at SMCH. The dead body is now kept at SMCH morgue.”

Santanu Das then provided his mobile numbers and urged upon the social media users to contact him in case if anybody can identify the deceased. Immediately, his post was shared in various platforms of the social media like wild fire. Ultimately, on Monday afternoon, the traffic cop Das wrote another Facebook post wherein he informed that the dead body was identified. He also thanked the social media users for sharing the information and helping the police in their job.

Santanu Das on Monday wrote in his wall, “Thanks everyone for your kind efforts. The dead body is identified on seeing Facebook posts as Bikash Paul of Darmi near Palonghat. Thanks a lot all of u again and Facebook too.”

This is not the first time that Mr.Das has made such a Facebook post. In the past also, he posted many such matters which were shared in the social media thereby enabling the police to identify the persons who died or were injured in similar street accidents. Such a police officer indeed deserves praise and the social media users did just the same thing. Beneath his post, there were many messages by the common people thanking him for being so different and so active in his duty.
