Toll free national helpline for elderly launched by the Government

Aug. 20: Government has launched toll-free national helpline for senior citizens. The service known as ‘Elder Line’ can be called round the clock at ‘14567’. The senior citizens can ask questions on old age homes, caregiver services, activity centres and more just by dialing the toll-free number 14567.

The government officials will reach out for intervention for abused and abandoned elderly. Also guidance on legal and pension related issues will be provided. Stating this, the Government notification urged the senior citizens, “Speak to us for any emotional support.”
