Three COVID-19 patients released from Goalpara hospital after successful treatment
April 16: After successful recovery, three COVID-19 patients were released from Goalpara Civil Hospital on Thursday. Both of them successively tested negative twice as per ICMR protocol. They are now being sent to 14 days home quarantine. State Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Minister of State Pijush Hazarika were present at Goalpara Civil Hospital to monitor their discharge. With this, till now 5 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Assam.
Taking to his twitter handle on Thursday afternoon, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “I & MoS @ Pijush_hazarika visited Goalpara Civil Hospital to monitor discharge of 3 #Covid patients – Khabiruddin Ahmed, Shahjahan Ali Ahmed & Yusuf Ali. As per @ICMRDelhiprotocols, they have been sent to 14-day home quarantine after they tested negative in 2 successive tests.” The minister greeted them with fruit baskets.

It needs mention here that two COVID-19 patients were released from Sonapur Civil Hospital on Wednesday. They also tested negative twice as per ICMR protocol and were sent to 14 days home quarantine. This means as of now, out of 32 COVID-19 patients in Assam, 5 of them have recovered while 1 of them died.
