Doctors & nurses to be sent for quarantine facilities at Taj Vivanta in Guwahati

April 4: Doctors and nurses of GMCH, MMCH and Sonapur Civil Hospital will be provided quarantine facilities at the Taj Vivanta Hotel in Guwahati from 6 April, 2020. After doing duty in COVID-19 ward for 7 days, they are to be mandatorily put in quarantine for 14 days. To make them feel good, the state government has decided to sent for quarantine at Taj Vivanta, Guwahati. This was informed by State Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference held in guwahati on Saturday. He added that the state government will bear all costs of the stay.

The minister tweeted, “In fight against COVID-19,Doctors and Nurses are our main backbone.After their duties for 7 days,they are to b mandatorily put in quarantine for 14 days.We have made arrangements in Taj Vivanta, Guwahati for their comfortable stay.Similar arrangements have been made for other places.”

The health minister further said that Prime Minister Modi has already declared that health workers including doctors and nurses have been brought under life insurance of Rs.50 lakh. He added that the the state government will provide the same insurance cover to 108 and 104 staff as well. Further ASHA workers and pilot and staff of 108 will be provided Rs.1000 extra for 3 months apart from their salary.
