Theatre in Education Workshop held at Jagannath Singh College
April 1: Three-Day Theatre in Education Workshop for Adult on ‘Acting for Creativity ‘ was successfully completed at Jagannath Singh College, Udharbond from 30 March to 1 April 2019. The Workshop was conducted by National School of Drama (TIE Wing) Tripura and organised by National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the Jagannath Singh College and supported by Matribhasa Oikyamancha, Udharbond.
A total of 35 students of the college participated in the Workshop. Raju Debnath and Jodhu Bushan Sukla Das from TIE wing of NSD, Tripura were the resource persons of the Workshop who efficiently conducted the activity of the Workshop. Apart from them, Rahul Dasgupta, prominent cultural activist of Silchar also interacted with the students.
In the concluding ceremony of the Workshop, Adithi Endow, a prominent dramatist of Barak Valley remained present as the Chief Guest. Among other persons Surjya Kumar Sarma, President of the Governing Body of the College, Rahul Dasgupta, Dr S. Somarendro Singha, Principal of the College, Dr Basabi Paul, Asstt. Proffesor of the College were also present in the concluding ceremony.
The invited dignitaries, in their speech highlighted the importance of theatre and drama for the well-being of the society and human life. Dr Shyam Mamud Barbhuiya, Programme Officer of the NSS Unit cum Asst Professor in History conducted the opening and concluding ceremony of the Workshop.
