294 found +ve in Assam on Friday, 2 deaths registered & active cases 1,370 in the state

July 8: On Friday, out of 2,625 tests, 294 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus stands at 7,26,244. The positivity rate in the state is 11.20 percent. Out of the 294 positive cases, 92 were detected from Kamrup Metro, 42 from Kamrup Rural, 18 from Dibrugarh and 25 from Darrang.

Further, on Friday, 02 persons died in the state due to COVID-19. The deceased are from Kamrup Metro district. The death toll in the state stands at 6,641. The recovery rate is 98.71 percent. 60 persons were discharged during the day. So far, 7,16,883 persons got cured and were discharged. There are at present 1,370 active Covid patients in the state.

It needs mention here that on Thursday, 273 persons tested positive in Assam and no death was registered.
