Team 99 of LIC Br.2 distributes drinking water among flood victims at Malini Beel

July 9: The devastating flood which ravaged Silchar town recently is not over completely. Still certain parts of Silchar town like Malini Beel, Vivekananda Road, Kathal Road etc are submerged. The prime scarcity in those areas is of drinking water. Team 99, an unit of SB Dutta Choudhury (Bapi), Development Officer, LIC Silchar, Branch II on Friday distributed packaged drinking water among those still submerged in flood water at Sishu Mandir Lane, Malini Beel.

Team 99 was ably cooperated in this noble mission by some other benevolent NGO’s. They went there by means of boat and distributed drinking water from house to house. Expressing his views, SB Dutta Choudhury (Bapi) said, “It was just a humble gesture. I express my gratitude to all the members of Team 99 and other NGO’s for their support. We tried in our own humble way to distribute drinking water to those who are still water logged.”
