Tamal Banik leads 16-member delegation to join ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ rally against inflation in Delhi
way2barak, Sept.3: Congress party is going to hold a mega rally ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ on Sunday against inflation in the country. The rally will be held in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan and will be kicked off by party leader Rahul Gandhi. Further, from 7 September onwards, the Congress will begin the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Several Congress members, including party MPs, will take part in the yatra, which is scheduled to start from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
Meanwhile, in order to participate in the grand rally at Delhi, a 16-member delegation of Silchar District Congress Committee led by its President Tamal Kanti Banik started for New Delhi by train. The delegation also comprises of Silchar Town Congress President Atanu Bhattacharjee, District Congress Secretary Abhijit Dhar among others.
Expressing his views at Silchar Railway Station, District Congress President, Tamal Kanti Banik said, “The biggest problems facing India today are unemployment, inflation and growing hatred. India’s development pace got retarded under the BJP rule. We are going to take part in the rally organized by Congress on 4 September to protest against the ever increasing prices of the goods and unemployment.” He further added that the Modi-led government is “not bothered about all these things.” He added the only agenda of the government at the Centre is to buy MLAs.
