Sunday begins with 56 new COVID-19 +ve cases in Assam, total now 1272

May 31: The number of coronavirus cases in Assam was 1216 on Saturday. Sunday afternoon saw 56 new positive cases of COVID-19. With this, the total positive cases in the state has gone up to 1272, out of which, there are 1102 active cases. Informing this, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday afternoon provided the break-up of the 56 new cases:

• 18 Lakhimpur
• 12 Barpeta
• 7 Udalguri
• 5 Baksa
• 5 Dhubri
• 3 Kamrup
• 2 Dhemaji
• 2 Airport
• 1 Nalbari
• 1 (to ascertain)
